Juba gets new mayor, 2 deputies

Governor Emmanuel Adil appoints Kalisto Lado Faustino as Mayor,Solomon Pitiya Nyambur and Thiik Thiik Mayardit as deputy mayor for admin and finance and infrastructure, respectively.

JUBA – The governor of South Sudan’s Central Equatoria state Emmanuel Adil Anthony has appointed a new mayor for the country’s capital Juba, according to a gubernatorial decree seen by Sudans Post.

Adil used his “powers conferred upon me by Republican Decree No.51/2020 of the President, Republic of South Sudan, read together with Article 99 (2)(a) of the Transitional Constitution of Central Equatoria State, 2012 (as amended) and Section 53 (2) of the Local Government Act, 2009.”

In the gubernatorial decree, Kalisto Lado Faustino is appointed the mayor of Juba city, Solomon Pitiya Nyambur, as deputy mayor for administration and finance, and Thiik Thiik Mayardit as deputy mayor for infrastructure.
