JUBA – South Sudan police have released the Editor-in-Chief of Juba Monitor newspaper Anna Nimiriano after spending three days behind bars.
A confidential source who spoke to Sudans Post said the Editor-in-Chief was freed on Friday afternoon.
“She [Nimiriano] has been released after intervention from her lawyer,” the source said without further details.
Nimiriano was arrested on Tuesday for defying a court order prohibiting publication by the newspaper.
The development came amid ownership wrangle between the management of the paper and the family of Alfred Taban who is believed to be the founder of Juba Monitor.
