Juba to go dark tomorrow

The Juba Electricity Distribution Company (JEDCO) has warned its consumers of power shutdown on Thursday.

JUBA – The Juba Electricity Distribution Company (JEDCO) has warned its consumers of power shutdown on Thursday.

The power distributor said in a statement issued on Wednesday that the disruption will be as a consequence of connection of a new transformer.

The power distributor disclosed that there will be two short power outages on Thursday.

The first power outage will run from 9:00 am to 10:00 am and the second outage will run from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

The areas to be affected by power outages include Kator & Tumbura Road, Nemeretelata, Atelabera, Konyo Konyo, and Juba town, Ministry, Road and Airport Roads.

The statement read: ‘‘Please be aware that there will be two short power outages tomorrow – Thursday, 12 August 2021. The first power outage will run from 9:00 am to 10:00 am due to the connection of a new transformer. This power outage will affect the following customer areas on Feeder A – Kator & Tumbura Road, Nemeretelata, Atelabera,  and KonyoKonyo,”

“The second outage will run from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm and this is to connect a transformer at the South Sudan Council of Churches. This power outage will affect the following customer areas on Feeder B – Partial Juba town, Mministries Road, Airport Road,” it added.

JEDCO apologies in advance for the temporary inconvenience,’’ it further added.
