The ceremony is expected to cost at least 4 billion Kenya Shillings or $33,250,207.
Addressing the media on Tuesday, Kinyua said September 13 will remain a holiday as he urged Kenyans to unite and celebrate the day.
He however noted that the gazette notice to that effect will be released later in the week.
“The date of the swearing-in will be a public holiday of general observance throughout the territory of the republic. ,” he said.
“Swearing-In ceremony and inauguration of the new administration will be held infidelity with Article 141 of the Constitution.”
He said the swearing – in ceremony will be held at Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
Kinyua through the Assumption of Office of President Committee assured Kenyans of a smooth transition as preparations are underway.
The committee convened a meeting on Tuesday with representatives from Ruto’s office to plan ahead of the swearing in.
The representatives included Ruto’s chief of staff Davis Chirchir, Speaker of the National Assembly Justin Muturi, Uasin Gishu Woman representative Gladys Shollei and UDA secretary general Veronica Maina.
Kinyua said it is the duty of the committee to oversee a smooth transition.
“The peaceful and orderly transition in administrations is a hallmark of our democracy and an essential statement of our nation’s status as a beacon of stability, democracy, and the rule of law,” he said.
The president – elect is expected to take oath of office before Chief Justice Martha Koome between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.
He invited all Kenyans to attend and be part of the historic event.
