Kiir, Al-Burhan’s deputy discuss Sudan crisis

The deputy chairperson of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council Malik Agar on Monday met President Salva Kiir Mayardit in Juba to discuss efforts to bring peace in the war-torn Sudan.

JUBA, JUNE 27, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – The deputy chairperson of Sudan’s Transitional Sovereign Council Malik Agar on Monday met President Salva Kiir Mayardit in Juba to discuss efforts to bring peace in the war-torn Sudan.

In statements following the meeting, presidential security advisor Tut Gatluak said Kiir expressed his concerns over the continuation of violence in Sudan and reiterated his readiness to help the northern neighbor comes out of the conflict.

“President Kiir is closely following the situation in Sudan [and he] is continuously engaging the warring Sudanese leaders to end the conflict by embracing dialogue as the viable means to settle their differences,” Gatluak said.

He further said that “Agar briefed President Salva Kiir Mayardit on the latest situation in Sudan and his recent visits to the neighboring countries, which are affected by the Sudanese crisis.”
