JUBA – President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Wednesday became one of the first African heads of state to meet Kenya’s new President William Ruto after discussions at the state-house in Nairobi where the two leaders discussed ties.
President Ruto in a statement seen by Sudans Post said he met Kiir and discussed with him bilateral relations and how to boost trade between the two countries.
“With South Sudan President Salva Kiir, discussed various bilateral agreements and areas of cooperation, including security and regional infrastructure development,” the Kenyan president wrote on his Twitter handle.
“We are working with South Sudan in enhancing intra-African trade through the strengthening of the East African Community and other regional economic blocs in the continent,” he added.
