JUBA – President Salva Kiir Mayardit has arrived in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, to participate in three significant regional and international summits, as confirmed by his office.

The three summits include the IGAD Heads of State Meeting scheduled for tomorrow, January 18, the Non-Aligned Movement summit, and the G77+China Heads of State Meeting.

“President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Wednesday arrived in the Ugandan capital, Kampala, to attend the summits of Non-Aligned Movement, G77+China, and IGAD Heads of State meeting,” the presidency said in a statement today.

The arrival was marked by a welcome from the Ugandan Minister of State for Foreign Affairs in-charge of Regional Cooperation, John Mulimba, and South Sudan’s Ambassador to Uganda, Simon Juach, alongside embassy officials.

The statement highlighted that President Kiir will not only participate in the formal sessions of the summits but will also engage in crucial sideline meetings.

Additionally, he will hold discussions aimed at reinforcing ties between South Sudan and other participating nations.
