“President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Monday met with the Chairperson of National Election Commission, Prof. Abednego Akok Kacuol to discuss preparations for general elections at the end of the transitional period in 24 Months,” the presidency statement said.
South Sudan’s minister of presidential affairs Barnaba Marial Benjamin who spoke to the media following the meeting between the president and the NEC chief “discussed issues related to the roadmap and plans to prepare the country towards general elections.”
For his part, Akok said he discussed with the president preparations for the elections and particularly amendment of the national electoral commission act.
“National Election commission must be reconstituted to prepare the country for the next general elections,” he said.
As South Sudan independence country we need sensus for the first time in the country before election started, what I think South was not conduct a sensus alone in the country
we are really requesting sensus before election if we need election
