JUBA – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has decorated four senior members of South Sudan People’s Defense Forces who were previously promoted from the rank of Major-General to the rank of Lieutenant General.
The decoration was made at the headquarters of the ministry of defense in Bilpam where newly-appointed deputy minister of defense, Chol Thon Balok, was sworn in during a ceremony administered by Chief Justice Chan Reec Madut.
“Thursday 29th April 2021- H.E, President Salva Kiir Mayardit, presided over the swearing in ceremony of Hon. Chol Thon Balok as a Deputy Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs,” the presidency said in a statement seen by Sudans Post.
“The swearing in ceremony was administered by Chief Justice Chan Reech Madut at Defence General headquarters before H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit,” the statement added.
According to the statement, the swearing ceremony was attended by the minister of defense Angelina Teny, minister of national security Obuto Mabor, army chief General Deng Wol, and the inspector general of police General Majak Akech.
“On the same occasion, H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit also decorated four Major Generals that were recently promoted to the ranks of Lieutenant Generals in South Sudan People’s Defence Forces, Lt. Gen. Rabbi Majong Emmanuel, Lt. Gen. Thayib Gatluak Taitai, Lt Gen. Ernest Dut Wol and Lt. Gen. Thiik Aciek Hol,” the statement added.
