JUBA, MARCH 18, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Saturday morning direct the national ministry of roads and bridges to tarmac internal roads in Western Bahr el Ghazal state’s capital Wau.

The head of state made the remarks during a rally following his arrival in Wau. The rally is a part of a tour by the president to three states of Greater Bahr el Ghazal region with the other two being Warrap State and Northern Bahr el Ghazal.

“I have noticed the condition of your roads, since we are working on road development, we have constructed Juba-Bor Road that connects Malakal to Ayod and Renk,” Kiir told thousands of citizens who showed up to receive him.

“With this, I now direct the Minister of Roads and Bridges to tarmac roads within Wau town,” the president added.

Kiir further urged parents to send girls to schools, so they contribute to development of the country.

“No child should stay at home without being taken to school, I urged you to take all the children to school especially girls. Girls are no longer sold for high bride price but must go to school and contribute to development of the country,” he said.
