JUBA – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit has this evening met the East African parliament speaker, Ngoga Martin, and the two men discussed the strengthening of the regional East African Community to which South Sudan is a member, according to a statement by the presidency.
“His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit received and held a meeting with the Speaker of East African Legislative Assembly Right Hon. Ngoga Martin and his accompanying delegation in his Office this Wednesday 26th May 2021,” the presidency statement seen by Sudans Post reads in part.
“The discussions centered on how to build a stronger East African Community and how the Republic of South Sudan can benefit from the region,” the brief statement posted on the presidency’s Facebook page added.
