JUBA – A Juba-based South Sudanese preacher is claiming that President Salva Kiir’s presidency along with that of his first deputy Dr. Riek Machar Teny will end by July 9th, 2021, the day when South Sudan marks ten years of independence.

“By divine kingship authority, I decree and declare that the time of the current President H.E Salva Kiir Mayardit and his Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny and all movements who are fighting for power is finished,” Chol foresees.

The South Sudanese church leader who was once arrested over COVID-19 protocol violations said the Independence Day will mark two important events one of which is the farewell for Salva Kiir and Dr. Riek Machar.

“This means the independence celebration for this year will mark two big events; Farewell to H.E. Salva Kiir Mayardit and Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny and thanksgiving for their good service to the nation for the last 37 years of struggle, reception, and welcoming of the new young president for the Republic of South Sudan,” Chol said.

“Because of this, I call [whole of] the country to give thanks to God, and to forgive one another and forget the past and be ready for the new beginning and new government,” he further added.
