Kiir meets Egyptian minister as Cairo-Juba relations deepen

Nivein who was accompanied by the Egyptian minister of finance made the meeting with Kiir following the conduct of trade fair in Juba in which the visiting Egyptian delegation showcased a number of Egyptian products.

JUBA – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Wednesday met visiting Egyptian minister of trade and industry, Nivein Jamae in Juba and the two discussed deepening economic cooperation between Juba and Cairo.

Nivein who was accompanied by the Egyptian minister of finance made the meeting with Kiir following the conduct of trade fair in Juba in which the visiting Egyptian delegation showcased a number of Egyptian products.

“His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit on Wednesday, met with Egyptian delegation led by the Egyptian Minister of trade and industry Dr. Nivein Jamae accompanied by South Sudan Minister of Investment Dr. Dhieu Mathok,” a statement from the presidency said.

Speaking to the media following the meeting, the Minister Nivein “appreciated the government of South Sudan for giving Egypt a chance to hold the Egyptian trade exhibition in Juba aims to deepen the relationship between Cairo and Juba.”

On his part, the Egyptian minister of finance and internal industry Ali Al Musaili said “the visit of the Egyptian delegation to Juba is based on active bilateral trade relations between the two countries.”
