JUBA – South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit who is also the commander-in-chief of South Sudan People’s Defense Force (SSPDF) has replaced the commander of the army’s 4th infantry division in Unity state, two senior army commanders in Bilpam have said.
According to the first army general who refused to be named, General Joseph Manyuat Manyzol who is better known as ‘Manyuat Nyaturoah’ was appointed on Thursday by Kiir and will pick up office on Monday.
“He was appointed yesterday and is due to take his office on Monday when he is given the office officially,” the army commander said, adding “the replacement is a must-be respected demand of the current environment of security in the state and across the country.”
The other commander praised General Manyat for “his outstanding military achievements which is needed by the country at this point and at this capacity as a division commander especially in Unity state.”
