Recently, Kiir has been sending Manytuil to neighboring countries along with the minister of foreign Affairs Mayiik Ayii Deng along with the presidential advisor on national security Tut Gatluak with the more recent trip involving him was the visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Speaking to Sudans Post from Juba, a presidency official said President Salva Kiir Mayardit informed Manytuil of his decision to transfer him to the country’s diplomatic service and appoint a replacement for him in Unity state, someone he said must have the of the people of Unity state in general.
“The president of the republic has told him (Nguen) that he will be transferred to the ministry of foreign affairs and international cooperation to support the country’s image among the international community because he has been working hard to serve the people and the government of South Sudan,” the source said.
“He will be transferred to the diplomatic service and the President will select a certain person from the SPLM to run the state affairs until the elections is conducted and the person the president will appoint will be a person with integrity, someone who is highly respected among the people of Unity state,” the official said.
The senior government official further added however that the president is still undecided on who to replace the Unity state governor, something he said has delayed the transfer of the governor to a diplomatic service.
“The president is still working to name someone. He is still working on that and he has a lot of people of his desk but he is still undecided on who to appoint to replace Governor Manytuil,” the official further said.
