JUBA — South Sudan’s President Salva Kiir Mayardit has met in his office at J1 this afternoon the visiting Egyptian minister of irrigation Mohamed Abdel Aty and the two discussed wide ranges of issues related to cooperation between the two countries, according the presidency.
“Friday 25th June 2021 – His Excellency President Salva Kiir Mayardit met with the Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hon. Mohamed Abdel Aaty and discussed various topics related to joint cooperation between South Sudan and Egypt in the field of water resources and Irrigation,” the presidency said in a statement seen by Sudans Post.
Kiir, according to the statement detailing the meeting which was also attended by the security advisor and presidential affairs minister, expressed “appreciations for Egypt’s efforts to boost joint cooperation and implementation of developmental projects for South Sudan.”
South Sudan’s minister of water resources and irrigation Manawa Peter Gatkuoth said “President Salva Kiir Mayardit welcomed the work progress made by the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation of both South Sudan and Egypt.”
