JUBA – A Nigerian cleric has warned that senior member of South Sudan’s government and army generals that are most trusted by the country’s leader Salva Kiir Mayardit are planning to take over his government claiming that President Kiir may do better but need action to thwart these plans.

Primate Ayodele of Nigeria said that Kiir will perform very well but there are some people planning a serious attack against his government and said those involved in the plot are trusted ministers, army generals in the government.

“South Sudan will continue to rise, the president will do very well but as earlier said, those in his government want to create problems so he won’t perform well, even people he trusts,” he said.

He further claimed that “Some of his ministers, army generals are planning a serious attack. The president must be on alert and ECOWAS must pay serious attention to it.”

ECOWAS is the acronym for Economic Community of West African States.
