Machar appoints new legal advisor

JUBA – South Sudan’s main armed opposition leader and the country’s First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny has appointed a legal advisor for himself, according to a senior opposition official who confirmed the appointment by Machar.

Dut Majokdit, a member of the SPLM-IO National Liberation Council (NLC), told Sudans Post in an email that Amrose Ayaga who served as advisor in the defunct opposition Northern Bahr el Ghazal state was appointed by Machar on Friday expressing the happiness of Northern Bahr el Ghazal caucus in the SPLM-IO for the appointment.

“SPLM-IO Leadership in Northern Bhar el Ghazal state would like to appreciate and congratulate His Excellency Dr Riek Machar, First Vice President, Chairman and Commander in Chief of the SPLM/A-IO, for appointing Comrade Molana Ambrose Ayaga as Legal Advisor to the FVP,” Dut said in the email.

“The People of Northern Bhar el Ghazal State in the opposition under his our able leadership are very happy for this wise decision. We continue to support you as we implement the Peace Agreement for the realization of Permanent Political Stability in the country,” he added.
