JUBA — South Sudan main armed official James Gatdet Dak who is also the Press Secretary for First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny had said that his leave has been extended, but will return if the extended leave is over.
In June, Gatdet said he was on leave and that media houses should contact SPLM-IO Director of Information and Public Relations Puok Both Baluang for inquiries related to the office of the First Vice President as he will be acting on his behalf as while he was away.
“As I am on a temporary leave from my office as the Press Secretary in the Office of the First Vice President of the Republic of South Sudan, H. E. Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon, my colleague, Cde Puok Both Baluang, shall continue to act on my behalf,” Gatdet said at the time.
Since then, Baluang has been working as acting spokesman for First Vice President Machar.
Speaking to Sudans Post this morning, Gatdet said his leave has been extended and that he expects to return to his job as soon as the extended leave is over.
“Yes, of course after my extended leave is over,” he said when asked by Sudans Post if he was returning to his job anytime soon.
