WAU – A man in South Sudan’s Western Bahr el Ghazal state capital Wau has killed his two children, a daughter and son, for suspicion that their mother may ran away with them after divorce threats from the wife.

“What happened is that the man was arrested by the police after killing his two children. They are son and daughter and what he told us is that he killed them because the mother want to take the children,” one police source told Sudans Post from Wau this afternoon.

According to the police, the man identified as Akol Garang who hails from Cueibet County of Lakes state said his wife threatened him with divorce because he cannot handle financial issues which he said he used to fulfill before the war broke out in 2013.

“Garang said they have been living happy with the wife and the children until the war broke out and the economy began to turn into another page. He said he could not pay what he used to pay before,” the police source said.
