“Dear Hon. Governor, many thanks and appreciation to you for not only appointing me in your government as Commissioner for State Revenue authority, but also playing an active role in the promotion and sustenance of peace, security, good governance and food security in the state,” Mr. Akol said in a statement dated 9 July 2019.
The senior finance ministry official said he has been inspired by the leadership of Governor Tong Akeen Ngor, “but unfortunately things turned out differently as your immediate family members in the government took advantage of your kindness to mistreat me specially the minister of finance Hon. Andrew Lual Buola.”
“I call on my political supporters, friends and relatives to accept this decision because I cannot bear the pain inflicted on me by the Minister of finance and more, He has deprived me of my constitutional powers as stipulated in the revenue authority act 2010 amended 2017. This issue has been tabled several times but all in vain nothing has changed.
“Dear Hon. Governor, I would like to encourage you to unite people of NBEGS-AWEIL and let every government official feels that he/she is an equal stakeholder in the state, also let your relatives embrace the inclusivity of this state and that you belong to all of us not a particular village for this narrows down your political path.
I will be ready to handover to my successor and share with him/her the projects I have initiated and let him/her work independently.”
