
JUBA – A South Sudan National Security (NS) meeting held in Juba last week and shared by President Salva Kiir Mayardit has acknowledged rise of crimes rate in the capital.
“The National Security Committee in the Republic of South Sudan under the chairmanship of President Salva Kiir Mayardit met at the State House on Thursday,” the South Sudan Presidential Press Unit said.
In a statement after the meeting the spokesperson of the committee who is also the minister of interior Michael Chiengjiek said they “discussed the conflict between Jonglei and Eastern lakes states on Chuthakueth Island and other two areas.”
Minister Chiengjiek added that the committee briefed President Kiir on the security situation of Juba, which he described as stable with the exception of some isolated crimes.
