JUBA – The National Dialogues’s National Conference which is ongoing in the capital Juba has resolved that land ownership be a responsibility of local communities, and not the government, according to a senior member of the Steering Committee.
Lual Acuek Deng, a member of the ND’s steering committee, said the conference also agreed to endorse a 5-year presidential term putting limit not more than two terms.
“The ND National Conference has unanimously adopted a resolution that land belongs to the communities of South Sudan,” Lual said.
“Presidential system of 2 terms limit. One term is for 5 years. Also a federal system has been approved,” he added.
Over 500 delegates from across the 10 states have been meeting in the capital Juba’s Freedom Hall for the final conference of the National Dialogue.
Sources have also told Sudans Post that the delegates have also approved a federal system of governance.
What about the default advisory body of the president- the JCE, what will they advise the president about the resolutions of the ND?
