JUBA, JUNE 21, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – South Sudan’s opposition National Democratic Movement (NDM) led by Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin will on Saturday open its national secretariat in the country’s capital Juba, according to an invitation letter.

The NDM was established in 2016 and is a member of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) which signed the revitalized peace agreement along the main armed opposition Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) with the government in September 2018.

In an invitation letter extended to Sudans Post on Tuesday, NDM spokesman Mahmoud Akot said the inauguration of the new office will take place on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Juba Nabari just near the Catholic University.

“The National Democratic Movement(NDM) cordially invites you to attend the official opening ceremony of its office in Juba  scheduled for Saturday 24th June 2023,” the invitation letter reads in part.

When approached by Sudans Post as to if the group’s leader will attend the important event, Akot said the inauguration of the office will only be attended by the deputy chairman and the secretary-general as well as other senior members of the group.
