President Salva Kiir yesterday issued a republic order on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC) firing the head of the head of the state oil company. The President did not give reasons for the sacking and did not appoint any replacement as usual either.
In a statement following his removal, Ring welcomed the dismissal and thanked President Salva Kiir Mayardit for the trust bestowed in him for the last 12 months and said he was honored to serve under him as head of the Nilepet.
“I would like to thank you for the trust you bestowed upon me for the last 13 months. It’s one of the rare chances that can’t be found by anyone. I was honored by the appointment to head the leading national gas and petroleum corporation,” he said in the statement.
“The trust you bestowed upon me made it possible to implement the major projects like Safiant – NILEPET Group (SNP) Refinery, NILEPET Headquarters in Juba, Nile Drilling and Services Co. Ltd on provision of two Service Rigs, NILEPET Headquarters in Wau, renovation of roads, manufacturing of NILEPET lubricant brand, job opportunities, etc,” he added.
“As you know your Excellency, the Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) is now being exported to the Republic of Sudan. Without your trust on me, I wouldn’t have achieved anything. I welcome my relieve the same way I welcomed my appointment as the Managing Director of NILEPET.
“Change is normal and should be accepted. Without a change, I wouldn’t have become the Managing Director of NILEPET. I would like to assure you that I remained loyal to your leadership and ready to work with you any time you want me.”
