NIMULE – South Sudan Nilepet official who fled detention in Juba last week after he was accused of illegal wiretapping on-duty colleagues has just been arrested in the border town of Nimule after police foiled last minute attempt to cross border, according to the police spokesman.

Angony Lual Angony, an auditor and assistant-director for Nilepet, was briefly arrested last week before he could bribe his way out and flee the capital for Nimule en route to Uganda where he would board a plan to the Sudanese capital Khartoum.

Speaking to Sudans Post this afternoon, police spokesman Major General Justin Daniel said the suspect was arrested was on a last minute attempt to cross the border between South Sudan and Uganda.

“He has been arrested on a last minute attempt to cross border to go to Uganda. This is something that the police has been working on. For the last few days, he’s been trying to flee the country so that he go with the crime, but he will never do that,” Justin said.

Justin is wanted on three lawsuits for unlawfully recording and wiretapping people in favor of the Nilepet boss Dr. Chol Deng and the notorious National Security Service, something that has led to unreasonable dismissal from the state oil company.
