AWEIL- The Governor of Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, Tong Aken Ngor on Saturday sacked two Director Generals and the Aweil Municipal Council mayor.

The gubernatorial decree affected the Director General of the State Revenue Authority, Joseph Wol and his counterpart from the state Ministry of Agriculture.

Sacked Aweil Municipal Council mayor, Zechariah Mou was replaced by Joseph Yach while William Makur Kur is new Director General of the State Revenue Authority.

Makur is the youth chairperson for the ruling party (SPLM) in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.

While the decree gave no reasons for the new changes, analysts viewed is as a plan by the governor to reposition himself in preparation for the coming elections.

A youth, speaking on condition of anonymity, claimed sacked officials who were not reappointed could be among the list of those feuding with the state governor.

The newly appointed officials will, however, have to deliver services in the wake of the hyperinflation and massive influx of refugees and returnees facing the state.
