JUBA – South Sudan’s National Security Service (NSS) has denied that it is holding popular singer, Larson Angok, who disappeared in Wau earlier this week after being arrested by suspected NSS agents.
Larson had by himself said he is being detained by the National Security Service itself and social media users responded by condemning the service.
However, in a press briefing on Friday, the National Security Service termed the reports as “misinformation issued by negative personalities” and “any person or group of people who blatantly engage in defamation of the NSS shall be punished in accordance with relevant laws of the country.”
It further threatened to hold anyone accountable “anytime, anywhere [for] falsely accusing the NSS with the intention to damage the reputation and reduce public confidence in the service.”
