JUBA – South Sudan opposition leader General Bapiny Manytuil Wijang has visited the country’s Mayom county of Unity state, days after a deadly cattle raid that killed over 20 people, to prepare for a peace meeting he heads.
Samuel Chan Mut Turoah, a spokesman for General Bapiny, said in a statement extended to Sudans Post that Manytuil – who leads the South Sudan Liberation Movement – visited several areas including Ruadh Nyibol in Mayom County.
“Lt. Gen Bapiny Manytuil Wejang Wuor and his accompany delegation had left to Mankien for one day visit to assess the suitable location and ground where the conference would be conducted from,” he said in the statement.
“The delegation was received by Hon. Chuol Gatluak Manime, the commissioner of Mayom County, Brig. Gen Ajang Mabior Chol (Brigade 10 commander of SSPDF forces), Mayom Civil population and other senior county government officials,” he added in the statement.
He further said that the delegation “identified two areas with plain landform (Mankien and Ruadhkey) that could be suitable for the conference.”
