WAD MADANI – Resistance committees in Madani, Sudan’s Gezira State, says that more than 800 civilians have been killed and thousands injured since the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) took control of the state in December.

In a statement obtained by Sudans Post earlier this week, the committees allege that the RSF has committed widespread killings, looting, rape, and intimidation throughout the state.

“Since the shameful withdrawal of the Sudanese Armed Forces (1st Infantry Division) from Jazeera State on December 18th and the state falling into the hands of the Janjaweed militia butchers, the state has witnessed a journey of killing life in the land of adversity,” it said.

The statement also accuses the RSF of cutting communication networks and hindering basic services, including medical care and the supply of food and goods.

The committees further claim that the Sudanese Armed Forces have conducted airstrikes in the region, using barrel bombs that resulted in civilian casualties.

They criticized the Sudanese Armed Forces for targeting civilians and for relying on militias within the conflict.

The resistance committees say they are monitoring violations and war crimes committed by the RSF and the Sudanese Armed Forces.
