JUBA – Popular South Sudanese comedian Penton Keah has been named for the consecutive time in a row by the Junub Talent Awards as the ‘Best Comedian of the Year’.
In a statement, the Cairo-based South Sudanese comedian whose real name is Keah Madira Machier congratulated his fans for the achievement and also thanked the awarding company.
“Congratulations to all of us for winning the best comedian of the year! From our nomination by JTA! Thank you for always being so honest with us and taking your time voting for us,” he said in a statement extended to Sudans Post.
He described his fans as “not just our fans, you are our family. This award is for you, it couldn’t have happened without you!”
He went on to “deeply appreciate my group “PENTON KEAH COMEDY GROUP” for the hard work and effort we put on making our family laugh and learn by creating short and educative videos for them! God will continue giving us power to change the world.”
It is not the first time for the Junub Talents Awards to recognize Penton’s comedy. Last year, the company awarded Keah for being the “Best Comedian of the Year.”
The 27-year-old is the most followed South Sudanese on Facebook with over 920,000 followers.
The JTA also awarded Achai Wiir, who has been helping sick and the needy, on humanitarian grounds and also named popular journalist Sebit William as the best journalist of the year.
