JUBA – The Cush International Church has debunked rumors that its leader ‘Prophet’ Abraham Chol has died in prison, saying that the man of God who was arrested last year after telling a ‘prophecy’ that there would be a new president in South Sudan by July 2021, is alive and not even sick.

This week, rumors have been spreading on social media alleging the death of the controversial Church leader in prison after the authorities allegedly refused to allow him to go to hospital after falling sick in the Juba Central Prison.

In a statement, the Church said Chol is not dead and hasn’t even been sick.

“We would like to correct the rumors spread by page called Wangkom links that Divine father was sick and died in prison,” the statement a copy of which was seen by Sudans Post reads in part.

“Our father Divine king Abraham is fine and not even sick. We visited him yesterday and today morning,” the statement added.

The statement stressed that Prophet Cush and the Church does not believe in death, citing a bible verse.

“He gave us this verse: ‘By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, and was not found, because God had taken him,’ for before he was taken, he had this testimony, that he pleased God. (Hebrew 11: 5),” the statement said.

“We Cushites don’t believe in death,” the statement added.
