JUBA – South Sudan’s Juba-based self-proclaimed ‘Prophet’ Abraham Chol Maketh who was arrested on Friday night could be heard shouting out to police officers during arrest why the authorities were arresting him instead Dr. Riek Machar Teny who he claims to have killed many people in the country.

Machar is South Sudan’s First Vice President and the leader of the SPLM-IO who has been in the epicenter of the South Sudanese civil along with President Salva Kiir Mayardit. The two has been fighting since December 2013.

The controversial man of God was arrested on Friday night by members of South Sudan security officers after blaming President Salva Kiir Mayardit and his first deputy Dr. Riek Machar Teny for the ongoing suffering in the country.

“Why are you arresting me, what have I done? I am not an Equatorian, I am a Dinka man and I haven’t killed anyone. Why you don’t want to arrest Riek Machar who has killed many people?” Chol who claims to be a King of Kush could be heard shouting against police officers in the background.

This is not the first time Pastor Abraham Chol of Kush is arrested by the police. In May last year, he was arrested by authorities and then sentenced to one month in jail for defying a ban on congregations to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
