S. Sudan water and irrigation minister, Egyptian envoy visit Wau town

JUBA – South Sudan’s minister of water resources and irrigation Manawa Peter Gatkuoth Gual on Tuesday visited Wau town along with the Egyptian ambassador to South Sudan Mohamed Mansur, according to the ministry.

A statement from Manawa’s office said the visit was aimed at re-launching of Grinti river dredging project and to also launch construction of water pumping station aimed at providing Wau residents with clean drinking water.

“On Tuesday, 6th October, the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Hon. Manawa Peter Gatkuoth visited Western Bahr-el-Ghazal state capital Wau along with the Egyptian ambassador to Juba. H.E Mohamed Mansur, accompanied by Governor Hon. Sarah Cleto Rial,” the statement seen by Sudans Post said.

“The visit was for the three to inspection of Egyptian dredging project’s progress, water pumping state,” the statement added.

In recent days the South Sudan minister has been moving around the country in implementation of beneficial Egyptian projects meant to improve development and the way of life for the citizen.
