RUMBEK – A 55-year-old man who worked as a shoeshiner was found dead at his workplace in Rumbek town, Lakes State, on Tuesday.

Lakes State police spokesperson, Major Elijah Mabor Makuac, told Sudans Post that police are investigating the death of a 55-year-old shoeshiner identified as Maluac Magut-thon.

“The deceased, Maluac Magut-thon, was found dead near Rumbek Girls’ Primary School in the Akuac residential area,” Makuac said.

“He regularly polished shoes under a tree near the wire fence of the school and was seen there every day until he was found deceased under the tree on Tuesday morning,” he added.

Makuac further said the cause of death was determined to be natural.

“There were no signs of foul play at the scene, and no injuries were detected by medical examiners,” he explained.

“The body was transported to Rumbek State Hospital for a post-mortem examination, which confirmed natural causes,” he added.

Makuac urged the public to seek medical attention immediately if they are feeling unwell.

“If you’re not feeling well, don’t hesitate to visit a hospital for a checkup and inform medical personnel of your symptoms,” he advised. “Ignoring your health can lead to serious consequences.”
