JUBA, JUNE 12, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – The Managing Director for Pension Fund for South Sudan People’s Defense Force (SSPDF), Gen. Bona Panek Biar, on Sunday called on Aliab youth in Juba to embrace peace and unity for sustainable development.
Panek, Former governor of Warrap state made this call during the inauguration ceremony of the newly elected leadership of Aliab Youth Association and Aliab’s Wifi Girls in Juba.
The event was held under the theme “Engaging Youth in Productive Activities for Community Development” at Nyakuron Cultural Center in Juba on Sunday.
“Please try to promote peace and unity among the youth and community at large because I do understand some of you were from outgoing association members,” Panek said during the inauguration ceremony in Juba on Sunday.
Kuoi Anyang Kuoi, Chairperson of Aliab Community urged Aliab youth to take education seriously.
“I will work jointly with the newly elected chairperson of Aliab Youth Association and I appreciate the outgoing Chairperson, Makuei Deng Tiel for handing over the leadership in good faith,” said Kuoi.
Philip Aguer Panyang, former Governor of Jonglei State urged the youth to engage in productive activities to foster development.
“What I will you as a youth, concentrate on production as you indicated in your theme. Good ideas were expressed here that you should write projects,” said Aguer.
Koro Samson Thondit, Chairperson of Aliab Youth Association in Juba urged the youth to support his leadership in order to achieve his mission and vision.
“I want you to contribute ideas that will move us forward as the youth of Aliab in Juba so that we find ways to support those at home,” said Koro.
Makuei Deng Tiel, outgoing Chairperson “I am always dressed in black not because of lack of other colors but rather I am grieving for my people who are marginalized by our neighbors.”
Ms. Lou Riak Jiel, Chairlady of Aliab’s Wifi Girls in Juba vowed to lead girls in the right direction.
“I promise in front of everyone here that I will give my strength and ability to make sure that I lead Aliab Wifi Girls in the right direction,” said Ms. Lou.
Koro Samson Thondit, former Secretary General of Aliab Youth Association was elected on 12 November 2022 as the new Chairperson.
Koro became the third Chairperson of AYA replacing Makuei Deng Tiel who was elected on 21st September 2014.
Awan Achiek Pourac was elected as Secretary General and Akec Riak Jiel, as Speaker, and Thokluel Angau Thokluel as deputy speaker.
