JUBA, SEPTEMBER 4, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – South Sudan’s economic conference kicked off on Monday in Juba, with the Vice-President for Economic Cluster James Wani Igga officiating the event.
The conference is being held at Freedom Hall and is expected to last until September 8.
Egyptian finance minister Mohamed Maait is among foreign dignitaries attending the conference.
It is aimed at paving the way for economic transformation in South Sudan, the world’s youngest country.
The finance minister said last month that the conference will bring together government officials, private sector representatives, and civil society organizations to discuss the challenges facing the South Sudanese economy and to develop solutions.
The conference is expected to discuss a wide range of issues, including the country’s economic growth and development, the need to diversify the economy, the importance of attracting foreign investment, the need to improve the business environment, the need to create jobs, and the need to reduce poverty.
The government has said that it is committed to implementing the recommendations of the conference.
As a concerned citizen I personally applaud that initiative which has now been taken by newly appointed finance minister that there is a need for the country economics revival, but let the ongoing conference be aware of these two policies once things get tough likewise, one that the Country has now facing Viz , Price floor and price ceiling, to me as individualistic who has now put forth the suggestion, it is good to tried with price floor such that it can serves the nation.
last but not least, we can even try to injecting the Country domestic market with enough supply so that this can also reducing the ongoing sour inflation beings trapping the whole nation economics.
Thanks in advance
