JUBA — South Sudan, the world’s youngest country, has been sent to limbo under the leadership of President Salva Kiir Mayardit, former South Sudan army commander and holdout opposition member General Stephen Buay Rolnyang has alleged.
This comes after former deputy minister of interior General Salva Mathok Gengdit said in an article published by Sudans Post this week that President Salva Kiir Mayardit is a peace loving person who he describe as ‘a symbol of national unity’.
In response extended to Sudans Post, Buay seemed to admit the claim by General Salva Mathok that Kiir symbolize unity, but then said his desire to work with pro-Khartoum politicians has send the world’s youngest country into what he calls limbo.
“My response to an article written by my uncle General Salva Mathok Gengdit praising President Salva Kiir of being a unifying factor in our country,” Buay said.
“Yes, Commander Salva Kiir was doing well during the liberation struggle, but he has been backsliding recently when he started to work with the NCPLM elites leaving his SPLM comrades and the whole of South Sudan in limbo,” he added.
