JUBA, JUNE 19, 2023 (SUDANS POST) – South Sudan’s Reconstituted Transitional National Legislature on Monday passed the National Public Health Initiative bill, according to chairperson of specialized information committee John Agany.

In statements following the passing of the bill, Agany said the bill was tabled to the parliament by deputy chair of health and population committee in parliament and that it will be now summitted to President Salva Kiir who is expected to sign it into law.

“The bill was passed in totality, and it became an act; it is no longer a bill, and so it will be channeled down into the office of the president,” he said.

The outspoken lawmaker further said that the bill is important and will help in the establishment of a health center for researchers who will discuss important health issues.

“It will be treated as a [framework for] technical institute for research and development, and it can also supervise the supervision bodies for the other centres in the different ten states and the three administrative areas,” Agany added.
