South Sudan vice-president, foreign minister arrive in Japan ahead of Olympic

South Sudan's Vice-President for Gender and Youth Cluster Rebecca Nyandeng De Mabior and the country's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Beatrice Khamisa Wani have arrived in the Japanese capital Tokyo ahead of start of the Olympic Games.

JUBA – South Sudan’s Vice-President for Gender and Youth Cluster Rebecca Nyandeng De Mabior and the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Beatrice Khamisa Wani have arrived in the Japanese capital Tokyo ahead of start of the Olympic Games.

According to a statement by Mrs. Garang’s office, the delegation includes the minister of youth and sport Dr. Albino Bol Dhieu and the President of South Sudan National Olympic Committee Juma Stephen Lemi.

“Earlier today a delegation, led by H.E. The Vice President (of the Gender and Youth Cluster), arrived in Tokyo days ahead of the Opening Ceremony of the #Tokyo2020Olympics,” Garang’s office said in the statement seen  by Sudans Post.

“The delegation also included the Hon. Minister of Foreign Affairs and international Cooperation, Hon. Beatrice Khamisa, the Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Albino Bol Dhieu and the President of the South Sudan National Olympic Committee, Hon. Eng. Juma Stephen Lemi,” the statement added.

It further stated that the “Opening Ceremony will take place Friday 23rd July, at approx. 1pm Juba time.”
