Deng said Machar was impeached by the student organization’s lawmaking body after the president failed to provide answers to critical questions raised by the students regarding the use of the student organization’s financial assets.
“The president has continuously failed to provide accountability on how the Union money is used. When you asked him that question he labels you as an enemy. He is seen living live lavishly as he bought a new car in Juba, he rent a house estimated to be not less than 500 dollars a life that he spontaneously adopted,” Deng said.
“Embezzlement of funds, bribery and other form of corruption have been recorded and documented in the office of President which let to failure to afford and perform the constitutional obligations in rescuing vulnerable students who deserved union support,” he added.
He said there has never been a “clear road map on how Union funds are approved and spent, since all plans, proposals decisions and resolutions of the Union are dictated by the president and his close allies who always hold private meetings behind the scenes without bringing them to the house.”
Deng said that the students who impeached the president exercised their right 2 of the Student Union Constitution which talk about the powers of the president and what can be done to him in the event of him abusing his power.
‘SECTIONAL POLITICS’
While Sudans Post cannot independently verify, Deng went on to claim that the Machar had resolve to the use of sectional politics which he said enabled him to manipulate decisions with the support of close relatives and people that shares with him the place of origin.
“President Gum manipulates people of his section to advance his influence and consolidate himself into power, by threatening others from speaking the truth and opposing people his unpopular policies,” he claimed.
“This is evidenced series of meetings Gum attempted to hold with his people but he is always rejected by his brave people who don’t want to encourage sectional politics and attitudes,” he added.
