JUBA – The 8th South Sudan’s Annual Governors’ Forum is expected to start next week from 25th to 29 November 2024 in Juba.
The forum is the highest policy platform that brings together policy actors to Juba to deliberate on a wide range of policy issues around governance, economy, security and peace.
This year’s forum will be held under the theme of 8th Governors Forum is “Forging Sustainable Peace: Committed Action in the Extended R-ARCSS Transition”.
Michael Majok Agar, Director General of Decentralization and Intergovernmental Relations at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs said the annual gathering will bring together governors and chief administrators from 10 states and three administrative areas.
“I am writing to inform you that the Office of President of the Republic of South Sudan (RSS) supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is organizing the “Eighth Governors Forum” starting from 25th to 29 November 2024 in Juba at Freedom Hall,” Majok said in a letter addressed all heads of civil societies on 14th November 2024.
Majok said the main objective of the forum is to promote dialogue and foster smooth communication between the different levels of government, with the view of enhancing policy coordination and sharing experiences.
“The forum is also meant to facilitate effective dialogue and coordination between the states and International Development Partners for increased partnerships and collaboration in the delivery of development projects and services for the people of South Sudan.”
