JUBA — South Sudan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mayiik Ayii Deng and investment minister Dhieu Mathok Diing Wol have this morning returned to the country from Qatar.

This is just more than two weeks after the two tested positive for the deadly coronavirus forcing Qatari authorities to put them under quarantine.

In a statement this morning, the ministry of foreign affairs said the two men returned to the country after recovering from COVID-19.

“The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Mayiik Ayii Deng and Minister of Investment, Hon. Dr. Dhieu Mathok have arrived this morning from Qatar,” the foreign ministry said in the statement seen by Sudans Post.

On Sunday, the ministry announced that the two men have recovered from COVID-19 and that they were expected to return to Juba on Tuesday.

Dhieu Mathok had also said he was put under quarantine in Qatar based on wrong results saying he was not actually COVID-19 positive after a health analyzer suggest that he was not positive.
