JUBA – South Sudan’s minister of water resources and irrigation, who doubles as the chairperson of the Nile Council of Ministers, Hon. Manawa Peter Gatkuoth Gual, has traveled to the Ugandan resort city of Entebbe for a two-day state visit, according to a statement by his office.
“The Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hon. Manawa Peter Gatkuoth is now on his way to Entebbe, Uganda for two-day state visit,” the statement by the ministry of water resources and irrigation seen by Sudans Post reads in part.
According to the statement, Gatkuoth will be received by his Ugandan counterpart, Hon. Sam Cheptoris, who will discuss with him matters concerning water cooperation between the two East African neighbors.
“Hon. Minister Manawa Peter will be received upon arrival at Entebbe Airport by his Ugandan counterpart Hon. Sam Cheptoris, the Minister of Water and Environment of the Republic of Uganda where the duo are expected to discuss the bilateral Water Cooperation between two sisterly countries,” the statement said.
The statement further added that Gatkuoth will also meet “and brief the Secretariats of Nile Council of Ministers (Nile-COM) and discuss the way forward.”
