South Sudan’s irrigation minister names new press secretary

In a statement, the ministry said Gattiek Gatkuoth Wichar will work as the Press Secretary for the minister and will be in the position effective today.

JUBA – South Sudan’s Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, Manawa Peter Gatkuoth Gual, has appointed a new press secretary to handle his dealings with the media, according to a statement extended to Sudans Post.

In a statement, the ministry said Gattiek Gatkuoth Wichar will work as the Press Secretary for the minister and will be in the position effective today.

“Congratulations to Mr. Gattiek Gatkuoth Wichar on his appointment as the Press Secretary in the office of Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hon. Manawa Peter Gatkuoth,” the ministry said in the statement.

“Mr. Wichar will be responsible for media activities and information related to the office of Hon. Minister,” he added.

Gattiek, a graduate of law at Ain Shams University in Egypt, has previously worked as the spokesman for the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) chapter in Cairo.

He also led Unity State Student’s Association in Universities and Higher Institutes in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
