JUBA – A senior Juba International Airport staffer is saying that the South West Airlines plane which crashed in the capital Juba following take-off from Juba airport this morning was recently donated by Russia.

The plane which crashed at around 9:00 AM killed almost all the people on board.

Only one person survived the crash. It was carrying 9 people, including two captains and seven passengers.

It was heading to Wau and supposedly to Aweil.

Speaking to Sudans Post this morning, the Juba airport staffer said the plane was donated by a Russian company and the company could not even provide how long the plane has been in service.

“The plane was donated recently by a Russian firm. There are a lot of details the company could not confirm including how long it has been in service,” the airport staffer told Sudans Post on condition of anonymity.
