On November 17, SPLA-IO spokesman Col. Lam Paul Gabriel said the main armed opposition group had resolved – during a high-level military command meeting in Juba – to dispatch teams to screen its forces who have been in training centers since early 2019.
“The leadership of the SPLA-IO thus resolved to dispatch its component of the technical Committees to the training centers to screen and reorganize the SPLA-IO forces without waiting for the required resources,” Gabriel said in the statement a copy of which was obtained by Sudans Post.
In a statement on November 27, Gabriel said three teams have been dispatched to three training centers namely Rajaf training center, Gorom training center, and Lologo training Central – all in central Equatoria state – to screen the forces in preparation for graduation.
“The SPLA-IO leadership today the 26/11/2021 dispatched its component of screening teams to Rajaf, Lologo and Gorom Unified Training Centers to begin the process screening as resolved in the meeting held on 17/11/2021,” the statement issued Friday reads in part.
“The teams had fruitful consultations with the Trainers and Administrators of the different Training Centers. The screening exercise in those training centers will kick off by early next week,” the statement further added.
