JUBA – A South Sudan main armed opposition officer SPLM-IO has declared his intention to join the South Sudan People’s  Movement (SSPM/A) led by former South Sudan army officer General Stephen Buay Rolnyang saying the SPLM-IO has a lack of vision under its current leaders leading to a split into two factions.

Captain Jal Nger Gai who previously served as deputy Commissioner for Peace and Reconciliation in the defunct opposition Liech state said his decision to join General Stephen Buay Rolnyang was effective from today.

“This note serves to inform you from today I will no longer support nor participate in The SPLM-IO’s activities both politically and militarily for best reasons known to me. I have decided to break away from SPLM/A-IO after the political friction with the movement which lead SPLM/A-IO to split into two Political and Military factions, SPLM/A-IO Kitgwang Declaration and SPLM/A-IO Main stream,” he said in a statement.

“However, the Miscarriage Of SPLM/A-IO’s Internal affairs is beyond description and reasonable doubt, since Inception of 2013 Crisis, SPLM/A-IO both Political and Military Leaders were having Common objectives, but in mid of 2014 The Cause and objectives of Movement was Politicize and Commercialize by a prominent Senior SPLM-IO’S Members,” he added.

He continued: At this juncture I would like to make it clear that i have joined South Sudan People’s Movement/Army (SSPM/A) under nationalist General Stephen Buay Rolnyang Kai, the Interim Chairman and Commander In Chief (C-IN-C) of South Sudan People’s Movement/Army (SSPM/A).
