SPLA-IO’s Kitgwang faction accuses ‘architects of bloody’ ethnic violence of warmongering

JUBA – A senior South Sudan opposition official allied to the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) Kitgwang faction led by former opposition chief of staff General Simon Gatwech Dual has accused unnamed ‘architects’ of the ongoing ethnic violence in the country of warmongering denying the Kitgwang faction is for war.

In a brief social media state, Mabior Garang de Mabior, the former Chairman of National Committee of Information and Public Relations of the SPLM-IO under First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny said the holdout SPLM-IO faction led by General Gatwech is for peace and instead accused unnamed warmongers of benefiting from the conflict in South Sudan.

“The Kit Gwang Declaration stands for no more war. It is those who wish to circumvent the implementation of Security Arrangements who are the real warmongers,” Mabior Garang said in a social media statement seen by Sudans Post.

“They are the architects and beneficiaries of the bloody inter-communal violence in our land, which keeps then in power. The Kit Gwang Declaration will never promote wars for other people’s children to fight,” he added.
