According to the audio, it is alleged that General Akol Koor sent some of his close aides to a village in Warrap to get a sorcerer to Juba in order to perform magic so that President Salva Kiir Mayardit could remove Nhial Deng Nhial.
This was allegedly motivated by speculations that General Akol Koor was not being allowed by Nhial Deng Nhial, who was the minister in the office of the president at the time, to meet Kiir.
In the audio involving two men speaking in Dinka, one person could be heard asking the other how much it takes them to return to the village where General Akol Koor allegedly brought them to Juba for the magic performance.
Reacting to the social media circulation of the audio, General Akol Koor’s youngest wife, Atoch Matthew Mathiang threatened to kill those circulating the audio saying it is a defamation against her family.
“These evildoers should have been dead immediately after this malice,” she said of those circulating the audio. “These culprits Mayom Kur Mum and Malok Deng Ater with their assistants are mortal enemies to many members of my great family.”
Reports of detention
According to reports circulating on social media, Paul Mayom Kur – one of the people speaking in the audio – has now been detained and has allegedly disappeared from a Juba police custody that was not identified.
Sudans Post could not confirm the authenticity of the rumor.
